[Olly Answers] #7: We Were Here cover art by Sam Chivers

Counting down to the release of ‘We Were Here’, the 6th Turin Brakes studio album, we’re posting exclusive quotes from our interview with Olly – almost – every day up to 30 September 2013. If you like what you read, please share it with a friend or pre-order ‘We Were Here’. Check out the other [Olly Answers] here.

The cover art has a really spacey feel to it, although people from different generations say it harks back to designs and toys from 70s/80s?? Can you talk a bit about the cover art and its story?
It’s by Sam Chivers who did some stunning limited edition posters for us during Dark On Fire. We love his work, especially the covers he’s done for “New Scientist” magazine, it feels like our music to us right now, it has a folk element that is very English 70’s but it’s pure space obsessed Psychedelia too.
Next time, Olly answers will focus on Ali Staton, who produced We Were Here.
