Support Profile: We Used To Be Tourists

Support on some dates of the German tour this week, is the band We Used To Be Tourists. Make sure you get to your gig of choice early enough to catch their set. But first get to know them a little better… Here’s some questions Isa of We Used To Be Tourists answered for Ether Site.

We Used To Be TouristsWho are We used to be Tourists and where are you from, how did you guys meet?

We are a Cologne-based band that exists round about a year now.

How would you describe your music?

That’s the “favorite” question being asked, as to answer it is somehow difficult… acoustic, melodious Indie-Folk just to outline with a few words. Listen for yourself!

What’s the proudest moment in your music career so far?

Shortly before going on tour with Turin Brakes – which makes us proud as hell – we supported The Fratellis in Cologne. Biggest concert for us since.

What songs should fans definitely check out before the gig they’re attending?

We recently released our EP Make It Home Alive. Listen to: http://weusedtobetourists.bandcamp.com/

What song do you most look forward to playing on tour?

We love playing the songs that are filled with three-part harmonies, as that is always kind of catchy. Pointing out one in particular is difficult, because it always depends on the atmosphere of the venue, crowd and our own mood.

You are supporting Turin Brakes on 5 dates, what are you plans for the tour?

Just having a great time on stage and taking the audience along. That’s what makes gigs always more delightful.

How well do you know Turin Brakes? Any stories?

We don’t know them yet, but we’re looking forward to getting in touch with them.

Anything else we should know about you?

We’re sad to announce that Benni, our drummer, can’t join us on all gigs.
