Newcastle-based trio Last Waltz, comprised of producers and musicians Geoff Leopard, El. Dee and Mick Rolfe, have released “Just Hold On”, a collaboration with Smoove (of Smoove & Turrell fame). “Just Hold On” is actually a rework combining elements of “Dark On Fire” by Turin Brakes and the title track of a new four-track EP, out now on vinyl via Coyote’s Is It Balearic? imprint. As you can hear, the vocals have been replaced but the lyrics are quite similar to the original, apart from the Dark On Fire chorus and the bridge which have been completely removed. I quite like this, it flows nicely! And the vinly looks nice too! I wish there were more of these quality reinterpretations.
