In-depth look: Mosely Folk Festival

So, from Friday to Sunday 3-5 September, the Mosely Folk Festival is happening. Details are now basically complete and confirmed. So here’s what you need to know:

The first night (Friday 3rd) will be headlined by Turin Brakes and The Divine Comedy. Saturday sees Donovan and The Low Anthem headlining, while The High Llamas, featuring Turin Brakes drummer Rob Allum, will also be playing. Sunday sees a probably extraordinary performance by The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain.

The best up-and-coming local acts will also be showcasing their talent as the festival celebrates its fifth birthday. Around 2,500 fans attended the event in 2009 and similar numbers are again expected at the 11-acre site in the heart of Moseley Village in Birmingham. Some of the region’s best local unsigned acts will get the chance to perform too. All-round entertainment will also be on hand for visitors with fairground rides and a variety of music and dance workshops. Tickets for adults vary in prices from £28 – £77 while children (12-16) pay from £12 – £35. A family ticket (2 adults & 2 children) costs £160.
