The new Turin Brakes album Outbursts has entered the iTunes chart already at number 36. That is obviously a good thing. So get it. And leave a review, the guys want you to.

Meanwhile, the boys have added a video compilation of doing promo appearances for the best of last September.

‘Regular’ Bottled At Source features exclusive new track

Glad you got that limited edition of Bottled At Source? Well, get ready for another unreleased song. Most digital retailers, including 7Digital is selling the one cd MP3 version of Bottled At Source for a mere 7.99 GBP. Included comes a new track called America. Thankfully, you can also just buy this track. It’s classic TB: acoustic guitars, gorgeous vocals… The guitar sound is a bit similar to Atlas of the World, but the vibe is significantly different from that song.

One CD version of ‘Bottled…’ scheduled for 12 October

There’s a regular, one cd version of Bottled at Source: the Best of the Source Years scheduled for 12 October. After that date, the 2CD version featuring rarities and b-sides will slowly disappear and diminish from record stores around the UK. So get your copy now.

Fans outside the UK are advised to get the 2CD version now from the United Kingdom. The 2cd version hasn’t been released in some countries (although there’s a digital download version available). If you want a physical copy of the limited version, don’t count on it being released in your country. The 12 October release date for the 1CD looks to be the same in all European countries. Also, there’s no US release date for CD versions of the compilation as yet.

“Bottled At Source” OUT NOW!

The day has come. Two years after Dark On Fire we now have a beautiful compilation with the best of Turin Brakes 1999-2009. This seems like a good moment to get Turin Brakes in the chart, so why not buy a lovely copy. The limited edition with bonus disc will be available for about 2 months, so get it as soon as possible. If you do it this week, it would be good for chart positions and things like that. And all that comes in handy when the 5th studio album comes round (currently called Outbursts, scheduled for a possible February release). Every proper record store in the UK (and in quite a few European mainland countries like Germany, The Netherlands, France as well, although Norway has to wait for another two weeks) should have copies, but you can obviously also buy from your favourite online retailer in any flavour you like:

New retrospective interview, new competition

More tickets are being given away. You have to guess the album title of the new compilation. The correct answer isn’t there (after all, it’s bottled, not bottle) but I think one should be able to guess what they want you to answer. The previously posted EMI competition is still open, by the way, and will remain so till the 10th of September.

In other news: the second part of a (now) trilogy of retrospective interviews is up on the widget. This one features, as forseen by me, JackInABox and Dark on Fire. The last installment will probably entail the selection of songs on the greatest hits, and perhaps something on a little thing I’d like to call “the future”? At this rate, we’ll probably find out by this time next week.

REMINDER: Turin Brakes are on BBC Radio Wales tonight, from 7pm!

An absolute must for Turin Brakes fans, this is also an album to be enjoyed by pretty much anyone who appreciates brilliantly written, original songs.

EPK Video Interview on the widget

The first of a two-part retrospective EPK (Electronic Press Kitt) interview is online. It features Olly and Gale (and their guitars) reminiscing old times (from The Optimist LP to Ether Song and 5 Mile)… Ah! Those were the days (see what I did there?)! Also, there’s a blue screen!

Anyways, check out the widget and embed it anywhere you can. Presumably, the 2nd part of the interview will chronicle JackInABox and Dark on Fire so prepare for more tales of horror and delight…

Meanwhile, the best of is getting released on 7th September. Now don’t tell me you haven’t pre-ordered yet! You LAZY, LAZY… thing!

Amazon.co.uk has uploaded samples for the upcoming Bottled at Source compilation. This includes the second disc with previously unreleased b-sides. Check it here. The album is released on September 7th.

Update: according to the webpage, apparently ALL pre-ordered copies will be signed by the band, not just the first 100.

The first 100 people to pre-order Bottled at Source at Recordstore.co.uk will get a signed copy. Signed copies are strictly limited and will be sent out on a first come first served basis. One signed copy per household. To ensure you receive a signed copy order this CD separately any other titles.

It is currently unknown whether you receive confirmation whether your CD is signed or not. Also, there might have been 100 pre-orders already.

Bottled At Source full tracklist + cover

Recordstore.co.uk has added full details for the upcoming Turin Brakes best of CD Bottled at Source. It features a nice skyline and a collection of rarities on the second disc. The tracklisting for CD one was already announced last month. The second disc features several b-sides chosen by fans, in fact many of the ten songs are present.

‘New’ songs Rise and Time Machine almost made it onto the Stalker single (before that became a digital single). Also new are The Seagull and Cumulous Clouds. Another previously unreleased track is Nessun Dorma (which can be heard in full on the widget), played at an XFM session in 2007 as a tribute to Luciano Pavarotti.
