As these latest photos show there hasnt been much downtime in our touring schedule . We are generally setting alarms, driving all day , doing the gig , checking into the hotel and repeating . We are grabbing every moment that we can though for sneaky enjoyment. Now we’ve hit the East coast the venues have become a but more suited to our acoustic needs ( dont speak too soon! ) its not that some venues havent been good its just easier to get inside the music when you’re not battling DJs downstairs or a mass rock band next door .
We did manage to stop at Niagara for a romantic 20 minutes with Ed and we grabbed a quick burger in Gary , Illinois – Micheal Jackson’s birth place and to be honest driving in this country is like a dream .
Thanks to everyone for coming out to the shows – they have all been great in their own way and we’ve met some great people ( and some crazies!) New York was a big chaotic trip , ( I’ve never seen so much sewage clearance from such big trucks so close to my window !) and Annapolis was the antidote , only 2 more shows and this tour blows – I wonder what will happen today ?

Last year Turin Brakes played two gigs at Folk In The Barn in Canterbury. This Canterbury Festival features a broad selection of events, from classical music to poetry, from film to music.

The full line up will be revealed in July on the official website of the festival.

• The Absolute Radio session was broadcasted last night. It featured a Beatles cover (Norwegian Wood) and new song Never Stops. Unfortunately, I only found out minutes in advance AND the stream buffered halfway through the Beatles cover, so I wasn’t able to record that. The podcast (which only features the interview, not the songs) can be found here (it’s the 10 September show you want). I’ll upload what I have when I can.
• On Monday night Olly performed with the recently re-united Drugstore.

• Gale writes about his favourite (Supertramp) album cover (and what it has to do with TB’s third album, Jackinabox) in Wednesday’s Metro.
• Part 3 of the ‘retrospective interview’ can be found on the widget. It’s actually an acoustic performance of Painkiller. So ch-check it out.
• There’s a new Horses Mouth video of Olly waiting at the BBC.
• Turin Brakes will be on this Saturday’s Morning Glory on BBC Bristol. You’ll find it on iPlayer afterwards.

Andy Steele is recording an album with Jez Wing called Night Fishing LP. It is (partly) recorded at Turin Brakes HQ and according to Andy Steele’s website, Rob Allum, the drummer, is also part of it. Release date to be announced. Andy released an album called True Believers and the Guises of the Weasel in 2007.

Pete Lawrie has a Myspace and hasn’t released anything as yet (as far as I know).

Kate Walsh, known for her second album,Tims House, is hoping to release her second album (tba) this Spring.

Lisa Mitchell’s The Attic Space, as previously reported, is scheduled for an early March release. Her debut single, Neopolitan Dreams, was used in a washing powder commercial.

Take That’s The Circus, featuring the song Here by Olly & Gale, is already widely available (note that some international versions lack Here).

Well our summer festival season is now over. We finished off this weekend in Scotland (hydro connect) and Ireland (electric picnic) Before that it was Beautiful days in Devon among all the other one off shows we have been doing. This weekends’ Hydro/electric combination truly blew us away! Both shows were rammed full of people singing along at the tops of their voices to the old stuff and giving the newer stuff a damned good go;) We have some great pics we shall endeavor to paste up soon.
Were really glad we have pushed on with the live shows through the summer as people seemed really pleased to see us again and it gave a lot of folks the chance to check us out for the 1st time.
Were now discussing what to do about the future, we can take things anywhere and being completely independent for the 1st time since we started is exciting for the moment. We want to get it right so were not rushing into anything. Were looking forward to making some more music and as always will keep you posted here and on the myspace about anything happening. Thanks for all the amazing support this summer….Ox

Last night, the gang played a stonker of a set at Proud Camden (a super cool venue formerly known as a Horse Hospital!), as part of the Intel studio, the stage for unsigned artists. A small and intimate gig it certainly was commencing with The Door and rounding up with our beloved 72… A mishmash of classics and newbies, Feeling Oblivion and Ghost were particular highlights as was Wicked Game.. We were informed that the band are now technically unsigned following their separation with EMI but here’s hoping and praying that they’ll be back with new material mighty soon Do email (ethersite@gmail.com) with any reviews/videos/photos etc from the gig!

Up next for the guys – the Hydro Connect and Electric Picnic Festivals in Scotland and Ireland respectively.
