On 20 January, Turin Brakes will be playing a gig in a church in Reykjavík. The gig takes place at the Fríkirkjan í Reykjavík (Free Church of Reykjavík). No ticket sale links yet, but looks like it will be a special night in the north!

Turin Brakes play Vest-ival Unplugged in London

Another London date, this time Post-Optimist tour and for charity! On 3 December, the guys will play a set at Vibe Bar, in London.

Football Action and Hanna’s Orphanage invite you to their charity Christmas party ‘VESTIVAL Unplugged’ at Vibe Bar, Brick Lane, London on Saturday 3rd December.With sets from Turin Brakes, James Walsh (Starsailor), Jersey Budd and DJ Seni and a ‘VESTIVE’ theme it promises to be a cracking night of music with all the proceeds going to both charities.

Turin Brakes return to Isle of Man

After two sell-out performances last year, Turin Brakes return to the Isle of Man for an exclusive gig ahead of their Optimist LP Anniversary Tour.

The band will perform on 30 October 2011 at the Villa Marina, Promenade Suite. Support will be by The Horn The Hunt, a pop band from Leeds, England, comprising of Clare Carter and Joseph Osborne. They have released their second album, Depressur Jolie, through White Label Music on 23 May 2011.

According to the description, the band will play both songs from The Optimist LP and newer work:

“Their Isle of Man performances will include tracks from this defining album, along with material from the rest of their back catalogue and the recent ‘Outbursts’ CD.”

Tickets for this exclusive show cost 27,50 EUR and are available through the interwebs (and via the phone – (01624) 600555). Chances are the show will sell out, since this happened last year. Twice. Just saying.

At this rate, The Optimist tour may never end! If the recent Leicester addition wasn’t enough, you can now also opt to go to Whitehaven for The Optimist Live Tour!

Leicester added to The Optimist tour

With a support act FROM Leicester (Jersey Budd) this was bound to happen – perhaps. Seetickets has listed a gig on 14 November in O2 Academy 2 in Leicester. Tickets for this gig go on sale this Friday morning (9 September).

Support for Optimist LP Anniversary Tour announced

Leicester singer Jersey Budd has announced he’ll be supporting Turin Brakes on their The Optimist LP Anniversary Tour this November. Jersey Budd released his debut Wonderlands in 2008. Listen to his song Bright Souls here:

Turin Brakes return to Folkestone for Optimist anniversary

APPARENTLY THIS GIG IS NO LONGER LISTED ANYWHERE. SO FOR NOW THIS APPEARS TO BE CANCELLED

Turin Brakes return to the lovely city of Folkestone for their Optimist anniversary tour. Adding a date to the tour in one of the gaps means the boys now play 14 shows over a 3 week period. And who knows whether more dates might be added?

The show in Folkestone takes place in the Quarterhouse on 15 November 2011. Tickets and details here.

The boys played a show in Folkestone in 2008, at Leas Cliff Hall. The Quarterhouse is a new venue (started in 2009) for the performing arts. The venue can hold over 450 people. The Quarterhouse also has a great bar and restaurant.

So, another date added to The Optimist Anniversary Tour! Fibbers, York is the venue, 23 November 2011 is the date. Tickets cost 18 pounds. Stage time etc here.

Turin Brakes launch Brighton pub – the Sidewinder

This Thursday, Turin Brakes help re-launch the Sidewinder pub. The pub’s manager type guy is Phil Marten, who many of us know as Turin Brakes keyboard player. He’s now running a pub though, and to celebrate Turin Brakes will be playing a set there this Thursday! Entry’s free and there will be free samples from the menu as well. Besides TB, some other awesome acts will be playing too. So awesome in every possible way. Off to Brighton, all!

In other news, TB are playing some other private festival, called IASTIVAL. The event takes place from 9-11 September, with TB playing on the 10th. The event is invite-only though, so unless you are friends with IASb2b, it’s unlikely you’ll attend this thing.
