Renamed to simply 72 (and slightly shortened) when released as a single, but this original album version from The Optimist LP is still the best. Olly: It’s a really emotional raw track and I wrote it just after I’d broken up with someone I was madly in love with. I was in my early 20s and even though it kind of makes me laugh now because I think it’s kind of sweet, I still love singing it live. It’s just one of those tracks that’s just right for my voice and I can really get into it. It’s always a favourite for me to sing.

Well all my colours bleed for you
Can’t you see them running?
My hazy hills glow green for you
You could just call me, you know?
Cos I’m always in
And I was just thinking about you on emergency

72 72 72 yeah

Well all my lust comes down to dust
Can’t you see it crumbling?
My hazy hill come down to rust
But you could call me, you know?
You’re pulling me out of this whirlpool
Your making me breathe again
And I was just thinking about you on emergency

72 72 72 yeah

And I just can’t forget 72
And I just can’t forget 72

72 72 72 72 72 yeah 72
72 72 72 72 72 yeah 72
72 72 72 72 72 yeah 72
72 72 72 72 72 yeah 72
