The Levellers own festival Beautiful Days held at Escot Park, near Fairmile, Devon over the weekend of Friday 15th to Sunday 17th August have announced the headliners for the main stage this year who are legendary New Wave songwriters Squeeze, feel good pop rockers Supergrass and of course Levellers celebrating their 20th anniversary this year.
Other world class live acts playing this year include Alabama 3, Nouvelle Vague, comedian Ross Noble, Turin Brakes, Stiff Little Fingers, Gabriella Cilmi, Oysterband, Zion Train, Seth Lakeman, Eat Static, Fishbone, Justin Sullivan, Frank Turner, Balkan Beat Box, Xavier Rudd, Salsa Celtica, Damien Dempsey, The Rhythmites, Sheelanagig, Nick Harper, Divokej Bill, Dennis Hoppers Choppers and Nuala & The Alchemy Quartet with further additions to the bill to be announced shortly.
Festival organisers have also confirmed that there will be comedy and spoken word on Saturday and Sunday daytime in The Little Big Top for the first time this year.
The family friendly festival has music across five stages, family camping, a huge open children’s area, food & craft stalls, real ale bars, fancy dress and amazing site art.
The Levellers first put together their own festival in 2003 “to offer not only the best in live music today but to re-create a community spirit that many events nowadays lack or choose to ignore. This event is about people young and old coming together and taking part in something that will be remembered for a long time.” It’s certainly succeeded in that aim, and is fast becoming one of the most popular and talked about festivals in the UK.
