Turin Brakes premiere ‘Sleeper’ in Napoli

A new song! Yes! Finally! Vincenzo reports from Italy that Turin Brakes played a new song called Sleeper last night in Napoli. Playing a one-off with support from Pipers the band felt ready to road test one of the new songs that might make the 6th album. Vincenzo also managed to grab his phone and film this “test”. Afterwards, Olly confirmed to him on Twitter that the song was “for now” called Sleeper.

Vincenzo wrote:

Unfortunately I did not have the reflex with me and I could not record the new song in hd! However, since it was the first time they played it live they said it was a test. I do not know how to compare it to one of their old songs but it was very very rhythmic and joyful … at first glance reminds me of one of the songs Outburst! Everybody liked it and when we heard that they played a new song we’re all excited! However it was a great concert and I am attaching the songs they did. They have only played this new song!

The full setlist according to Vincenzo:

BLUE HOUR
THEY CAN’T BUY THE SUNSHINE
STALKER
EMERGENCY 72
REAL LIFE
DARK ON FIRE
FEELING OBLIVION
MIND OVER MONEY
STONE THROWN
PAINKILLER
FISHING FOR A DREAM
THE DOOR/BREATHE
LONG DISTANCE
SLEEPER
RESCUE SQUAD
UNDERDOG

Sounds like a good night. Hopefully this song might get another road test  at the gigs in Milton Keynes and Tooting next week, which are probably the final gigs in 2012 (unless they put on a last minute show).

Thanks to Vincenzo for sharing the video and writing in. Feel free to do the same if you were there or are attending any upcoming gigs.
