The other track sung by Gale on Ether Song (the first one is Falling Down). One of the highlights of the album, in my opinion. It’s about losing friends… Some quotes from TurinBrakes.com:

Gale: Full of Stars, we finished while we were in LA. We had a few people dying around us last year and Full of Stars is kind of about wondering about death. Full of Stars is actually a direct reference to 2001, which we were watching about that time, and it has a good ending. It helped me put in perspective what was going on. Its got a really nice groove.

Olly: It’s twisted gospel music for me, especially with the keyboards. It’s one of those moments where you escape the rest of the album. Its one of the moments of clarity on the album. The kind of inner workings of the record come through on that track. Its another one that people seem to really like.

I’m going to get me a bone today
Under this big blue sky.
Under the tree where my last love laid,
Now where beneath the leaves she lies.
I’m going to dig a deep hole,
Crack open this bone,
See where all the wonder went,
See where now it’s all gone

Look at the light, it’s full of stars
What’s really happening? Something wonderful,
It’s not as bad as I was told,
To lose all that was loved
It’s the demons who drag you down
But the angels pull you up…

Don’t let the colors bring you down,
They’ll get much brighter one day,
You know all things will come around
If you leave them in their sway.
I’m gonna save it all in these photographs,
Keep something here for me
When I’m dead and gone I’ll laugh last
At what’s left here to see…

Look at the light, it’s full of stars
What’s really happening? Something wonderful,
It’s not as bad as I was told,
To lose all that was loved
It’s the demons who drag you down
But the angels pull you up…

Look at the light, it’s full of stars
What’s really happening? Something wonderful,
It’s not as bad as I was told,
To lose all that was loved
It’s the demons who drag you down
But the angels pull you up…
